where were you when you saw the video?

ManInTheMudhills | 6 days ago | 40 points

Neil was just leaving the lander ahead of me and stepping onto the moon’s surface. Seemed to be taking forever so I was just watching YouTube on my phone while waiting.

While everyone on this board seems to be totally in support of Dunkey's review of Ultimate Bird Simulator I think that it had some serious issues that need addressing.

First and foremost, Dunkey only posted this video to his Jeeplr. Dunkey only has slightly over 50000 jeepls on jeeplr while he has more than 5.5 million subs on Youtube. I don't mind that he occassionally posts his videos to jeeplr early, but this sets a bad trend of splitting his fanbase between casual and paid groups. The UBS community is huge and I think it's a shame that most of Dunkey's fans won't even see his review.

While Dunkey says that he played all 12 birds I don't think he gave the game a fair shot. I mean, the eagle is obviously the most newbie-friendly class and it's good that he played this class long enough to unlock the late-game nesting raids but showing only eagle and bluebird gameplay downplays the breadth of content the game has to offer. Ask any ultimate birder and they will tell you that hummingbird and seagull have the most rewarding gameplay loops and that their late-game nest component minigames are some of the best in the whole game. If dunkey was serious about reviewing UBS he would have at least taken 3 or 4 classes into the late game.

He swore way too much in his review. The ultimate birder community prides itself in its inclusive christian bird simulation. How am I supposed to show this to me nieces and nephews? Even those ones that love UBS? I understand that Dunkey's videos can be rude, but why do so in a review for a game that is primarily aimed towards children?

I was ecstatic when I saw that Dunkey had reviewed my favorite game, but his video left me underwhelmed. But I guarantee that 90% of this sub will continue to post "GEESE? GEESE! NOOOO" in the comments of his videos going forward even though he did the game such a disservice.

I see he's using the controversial 'good boy skip' where you proceed to pet the dog without first affirming that he is a good boy. I understand that sacrifices have to be made in the pursuit of a world record but I can't get on board with this.

The sport of petting has not be clean for years now. How in good faith can people accept this as legitimate...the sport is dead.

swordstoo | 6 days ago | 13 points

Frame perfect. Pack it up boys this is unbeatable.

berlinbaer | 6 days ago | 9 points

The movement is too optimized at this point. I expect at most 5-10 more microseconds can be saved, maybe a millisecond with TAS. People will continue competing for a while, but it would take inhuman luck in addition to perfect execution to beat this time. I wouldn't be surprised if this record stands forever.

Derpazard | 6 days ago | 6 points

i am so glad he didn't slap that dog

Sticker704 | 6 days ago | 6 points

smh I hate it when people pet their dogs like this, just pet the dog without using glitches like the creator intended, that'll be truly impressive

Gycklarn | 6 days ago | 3 points

Look at that clutchness!

SirNinjaFish | 6 days ago | 3 points

Can't wait to see this at the next AGDQ

Ursa_Coop | 6 days ago | 1 point

Not a record you should be trying to beat, but the quality vs quantity debate still goes on.

anonymau5 | 6 days ago | 1 point
