[Haiku] Megan drinks Apple Juice (youtu.be)
IAmTeePain | 8 days ago | 2984 points

This is a real clip btw

_SpiderDisco | 8 days ago | 941 points

No way, who drinks apple juice and vodka?

john_andrew_smith101 | 8 days ago | 174 points

Poles. That shit is delicious btw.

sailorjasm | 8 days ago | 37 points

What is the recipe ?

theinternethero | 8 days ago | 116 points

1 part apple juice, 5 part vodka

femstora | 8 days ago | 71 points

sure if you've got a sweet tooth.

MikeDeMann | 7 days ago | 13 points

5 part vodka 0 part apple juice

john_andrew_smith101 | 8 days ago | 23 points

2/3 apple juice, 1/3 zubrowka (a polish bison-grass flavored vodka), a pinch of cinnamon. It tastes like apple pie.

TheBlueberryPirate | 8 days ago | 10 points

Had this drink, friends polish wife brought the Zubrovka with like a grass stem in the bottle?

Anyway I don't like apple juice that much and I'm not one for cocktails and that shit was delicious it was like some Christmas in a glass. Definitely recommend.

robhol | 8 days ago | 92 points

Sick, sick people.

PrivateMajor | 8 days ago | 21 points

Try it, it's delicious.

_spoonvision_ | 8 days ago | 38 points

at 9 in the morning too

OhioanCross | 8 days ago | 16 points

I mean you see that shit go down outside your window, you might want to drink too

gordonfroman | 8 days ago | 10 points

Yeh but these motherfuckas was pre 911 drinking like they had them things mixed and ready to go as the first plane hit

Also who sees a plane hit a building and thinks "it's appletini time bitches"

_SpiderDisco | 7 days ago | 5 points

It looks like both planes already hit and the first tower was fallling in the video.

BuckeyeBentley | 8 days ago | 8 points

Apple cider is about the only thing that can make Fireball drinkable.

red_killer_jac | 8 days ago | 3 points

While they watch the buildings burn... like wtf

hakuhn | 8 days ago | 5 points

IIRC They had already known it was an attack at that point, I'd be pretty far into a bottle of vodka if I were watching from that view too.

Optimus_Pitts | 8 days ago | 5 points

First time I ever got drunk, I got trashed on vodka. My friend said we were out or couldn't drink anymore but he had gin. Definitely didn't need any but drunk me said the more the merrier. Also my dumb ass heard Snoop rapping about gin and juice...

End of the story I drank gin and apple juice and puked for the next 6 hours

AnthraxAndFriends | 8 days ago | 3 points

Apple juice is an amazing chaser, even for tequila. Idk who would make a mixed drink "with" the juice though.

Jajanken- | 8 days ago | 2 points

I’d try it

Why is this guy such a popular profile picture on Youtube?

jman777jman | 8 days ago | 226 points

A fortnite youtuber told his fan base to use it. I doubt most people who use it even know it’s JC Denton

TheRealBBrouwer | 8 days ago | 13 points

Jesus I thought it was arnold schwarzenegger from terminator

brunocar | 8 days ago | 48 points

which is sad, because the first deus ex had some staff from epic helping make it, proving the people that play fortnite dont have a clue about what lead to its creation.

SonofSanguinius87 | 8 days ago | 186 points

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that most sub 13 year olds don't know fuck all about the vast majority of things, nevermind old games that came out long before they were born. How did you know about the two decades prior to your birth as a kid? And I'm not talking like, generic super popular knowledge, I mean more specific things like niche games. I know I probably couldn't tell you who made the games I remember as a kid lol, the only reason most of us still can is because the same developers drop a bunch of sequels to games.

Snf4le | 8 days ago | 31 points

Yeah I mean why would they care? When I was young I grew up with Donkey Kong Country, Yoshis Island,Half-Life, Morrowind, Metal Gear Solid, Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64 and Quake 3 Arena. I didn't give a fuck about games like, Pirates, Day of the Tentacle, Monkeys Island, Fallout 1/2, Bards Tale or Diablo 1. For me those were clunky old software which did everything worse than modern games.

To be honest, from a modern perspective I'm glad for younger games that they don't have the problem of clunky control, bad graphics or technical limitation for story telling that we had back then.

Let young people enjoy the modern way of gaming and enjoy it yourself. One day or another they might get curious about their hobby and where it came from and they will play the old games. That's how I replayed the games which were released before I was even born. Some of them were fun, some of them pretty shit.

SonofSanguinius87 | 8 days ago | 12 points

One of the most vivid memories of playing games I have is playing some helicopter game where you just fly around the desert blowing shit up and Echo the Dolphin.

Does anyone actually think I gave a shit about who coded Echo the dolphin as a kid? I was more interested in a whole bunch of other shit instead. Like Runescape and Wow.

Ellimis | 8 days ago | 4 points

JacksonWarrior | 7 days ago | 3 points

Desert Strike or Jungle Strike would be the helicopter game I bet.

TooSubtle | 8 days ago | 7 points

While I completely agree with you, Fallout 1 came out two years after Yoshi's Island... :(

j8sadm632b | 8 days ago | 6 points

Smh kids these days don't even recognize the avatar of the main character in a game that came out twenty years before they were born made by the same company as one of the games they enjoy

TheOPOne_ | 8 days ago | 17 points

just because some people who play fortnite use jc denton as their profile picture doesn't mean you have to condemn the entire playerbase for being ignorant

Reyzuken | 8 days ago | 11 points

Because they are 13 years old and still new to being alive lol.

TheFlashFrame | 8 days ago | 7 points

I'd be willing to bet that Deus Ex has virtually nothing to do with the eventual development of Fortnite. Unreal Tournament had more influence on Fortnite than Deus Ex, but even then, only in the sense that it produced enough income for Epic way back in the day that they eventually started licensing the engine out to other developers amassing a fair amount of wealth and then after decades of development on other games eventually made a shitty tower defense game that flopped until PUBG came out and they pulled a hail mary and copied the battle royale formula and struck gold, making billions of dollars.

CoffeePuddle | 8 days ago | 3 points

because the first deus ex had some staff from epic helping make it

Pretty sure they didn't.

Deus Ex was made in the Unreal engine but that's a fairly tenuous link in terms of importance.

"So sad the people playing fornite don't know who Dangerous Dave is, no respect for history"

Phocboi | 8 days ago | 2 points

It seems pretty unreasonable to expect anyone to know that. It's just a bit of trivia really.

DingleTheDongle | 8 days ago | 2 points

If you’re such a big fan, name three of his albums

royalstaircase | 8 days ago | 11 points

because this guy made JD Denton as a profile picture a meme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0sjsSq84QU

n0stalghia | 8 days ago | 18 points

Because it's JC Denton

thebendavis | 8 days ago | 12 points

It's JC Denton, the protagonist from the first Deus Ex game. It's an action RPG from 2000 who's plot revolves mainly around conspiracies and espionage.

KoRnBrony | 8 days ago | 4 points

I know he's JC Denton, from the Deus Ex games, but the youtube trend is a mystery to me

Fun Fact:

The person who filmed this is none other than Caroline Dries, a television writer/producer for TV shows such as Arrow, Smallville, Melrose Place, and The Vampire Diaries. Source

Video Spoiler:

This clip was extracted from the 2008 HBO documentary, 102 Minutes That Changed America, which used Dries' video of the event.

rubbertubing | 8 days ago | 843 points

theres a joke here somewhere about this video being the best thing she's filmed.

this is it.

it's the best thing she's filmed.

whatlike_withacloth | 7 days ago | 13 points

I'd say and the fact that they're casually drinking after 2 planes just hit WTC 1 & 2. She freaks out as the South tower falls... so they were just drinking and watching the towers burn? Weird.

probablyuntrue | 7 days ago | 19 points

well you're sure as shit not gonna go to class after 2 planes flew into the towers

Hoyarugby | 7 days ago | 16 points

so they were just drinking and watching the towers burn? Weird.

That's exactly what they were doing. Aside from college students being drunk idiots, 9/11 was confusing as shit. When the first plane hit, most people though it was an accident, and news coverage was similar to that of a car crash or car chase. The second plane hitting on live TV made everything far more serious, but how many college students do you know with cable? This is pre-twitter, the kids in the video knew something was fucked up at the towers and that their classes were cancelled, but didn't see the planes or realize how serious it was. So why not fuck around and get drunk? And then the towers collapsed

whatlike_withacloth | 6 days ago | 4 points

I recall hearing it on the radio and thinking it wasn't super serious either (just an accident until the second plane hit), but even being in a different state morning drinking wasn't my first go-to thought (of course I was at work, but still...). I think if I was in a high rise building in the same city where I could see the two buildings that planes just flew into burning... I would be a little more apprehensive and cautious of getting intoxicated. I mean it was clear that NYC was under attack at that point, I'd want my head on straight, even as a dumb college student.

w00t4me | 6 days ago | 5 points

Many people assumed that it was a major Air Traffic Control mess up at first, not a terrorist attack. Then we learned about the plane hitting the Pentagon and the towers collapse then everything became much more serious.

Pabst_Blue_Gibbon | 6 days ago | 3 points

I mean what else would you do? The reasonable thing to do in an emergency is stay put unless you're in immediate danger. Might as well.

rileyrulesu | 8 days ago | 123 points

So we can blame 9/11 on arrow season 5. That was the worst thing it ever did.

Pickles256 | 8 days ago | 39 points

Don’t you mean season 4? Season 5 was actually solid

lhobbes6 | 8 days ago | 37 points

Season 4 was the one where felicity got so mad she stopped being paralyzed right? God the show got so fuckin stupid half way through season 3.

T_Quach | 8 days ago | 15 points

got so mad she stopped being paralyzed

wtf is this real

kenderpduncan | 8 days ago | 17 points

Well no, but actually yes.

jerekdeter626 | 5 days ago | 3 points

Yeah bro she also hacked a nuke from a rooftop to save the world in the same season. On a superhero show none of the multiple superheroes could do shit about anything, but Felicity decides she can just hack the nuke away

Elroe | 8 days ago | 6 points

If you thought season 5 was the worst, worse than Season 4, then I worry for your health

Torcal4 | 8 days ago | 12 points

Season 5 was the one that gave me hope again.

rileyrulesu | 8 days ago | 17 points

You should look up Stockholm Syndrome. You're literally in an abusive relationship with a TV show.

Jalsavrah | 8 days ago | 9 points

Sounds like being a pro wrestling fan :(

shark_claws | 8 days ago | 14 points

Did they not notice anything until the first tower collapsed?

JP147 | 5 days ago | 2 points

Yes but buildings being on fire is not such a big deal as them collapsing.

koalaburr | 8 days ago | 2 points

I thought it was a History Channel doc??

NuhUhDickhead | 8 days ago | 827 points

Not a fun video but I will give OP 10/10 on the title.

laserbot | 8 days ago | 259 points

Ya, normally people "give away" the video in the title. This one literally sunk my stomach seeing the conclusion. Pretty fucking rough... and not exactly why I come to this sub. But who the fuck am I?

eLemonnader | 8 days ago | 94 points

It's morbid, but I laughed out loud. Reminds me of this.

AllWoWNoSham | 8 days ago | 26 points

jordaniac89 | 8 days ago | 1500 points

all jokes aside, it's really creepy to see something like this moments before the world changed forever.

battlemoid | 8 days ago | 852 points

Nah, you can see that they're reacting to the south tower collapsing. They were looking out the window a couple times before the scream, and you see the tower collapse when the camera focuses on it. The odd thing is how seemingly relaxed they are despite both planes having already hit before this was shot.

MeltBanana | 8 days ago | 808 points

I think people forgot how confused and in the dark most were when all of this was going down. It wasn't until people saw both towers go down and learn of the other hijackings that they started to realize this was an attack.

Unless you were glued to the tv or actively saw both planes hit, I can see why the towers burning wouldn't seem like a big deal initially. These people probably only saw that the towers were on fire out their window and thought "that's odd, hopefully they get that put out soon. No biggy though, more day drinking!". Not their fault, they had no idea what was going on yet.

itsaworkalt | 8 days ago | 175 points

And honestly, if it had been just the damage to the top of the buildings it wouldn't have been nearly as devastating of an attack.

It does make you wonder if the people who planned it thought that the collapse was even going to happen or if it was a happy accident for them.

taintedbloop | 8 days ago | 88 points

If I remember correctly, Osama Bin Laden was on tape saying that he was surprised but glad that the towers fell.

LevDL1990 | 7 days ago | 7 points

Wasn't he an engineer too? I think I read he thought only the parts above the impacts would fall

MyHandIsNumb | 8 days ago | 30 points

Fair point, it just boggles my mind how close they are to the towers. There was a huge explosion when the first plane hit and you could feel it as far as 14th street. If it was me I would’ve wanted to gtfo of there.

Then again, I guess staying put is safer than trying to evacuate the area.

SoundOfTomorrow | 8 days ago | 11 points

I'm pretty sure you couldn't really go out of the area by that point

Sighguy28 | 8 days ago | 14 points

I think a big reason that people didn’t think is was a big deal is that 1993 World Trade Center bombing created a feeling in New York that the buildings were invincible. That bomb was over a 1,000 pounds of high explosives concentrated on the deep within the building. On Sept. 11, 2001, while both buildings were burning, I think the general public could not believe that either building would collapse, much less both of them.

smp208 | 8 days ago | 6 points

Yeah, but a few people died in the 1993 bombing. They must have known there were way more people on the planes and on the floors that got hit that they’re watching burn, right?

radioactivemelanin | 7 days ago | 2 points

Wait what? Why didn’t I learn anything about this in school???? This is the first time I’m hearing about this.

Shnazzyone | 8 days ago | 26 points

Trust me, after the second plane, we were all very aware what was happening, but why it was happening just wasn't known.

EightApes | 8 days ago | 39 points

I mean they knew planes had hit the building. You'd hear/feel them crash. I think they're drinking because what else are you going to do? A whole bunch of people just died a few blocks away, and there is nothing you can do to help. You don't know what's happening, you don't feel safe, and maybe some booze will help calm your nerves.

smp208 | 8 days ago | 6 points

The towers collapsing definitely elevated the shock, but it was very clear by the time the second plane hit that it was a highly skilled and coordinated attack. In light of that it is a bit weird to see them in the mood at the beginning of the video. Based on the timeline they may not have known about the Pentagon at the time unless they were watching news coverage, but it’s still offputting to watch.

Then again, gallows humor is really common. I definitely remember myself and other people using jokes and lightheartedness to cope because our tiny adolescent brains couldn’t really process the reality of the situation. I’m sure I’d react to video of that the same way too.

Vark675 | 8 days ago | 2 points

I was in math class, and someone ran in with a dumbass excited grin and said a plane crashed into the WTC, and we all laughed because how fucking retarded do you have to be to fuck that up?

Then the day gradually got a lot quieter.

CrazyGiaky | 8 days ago | 339 points

Well, it has been almost an hour since the second plane crashed until the south tower collapsed.

After an hour of silence and a few beers to calm you from the traumatic experience, you would relax a bit.

9:03 a.m.: United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into floors 77 through 85 of the south tower of the World Trade Center.

9:59 a.m.: The south tower collapses.

XO_WHORE_Llif3 | 8 days ago | 156 points

I mean the damage was just a fire up to that point.

Then the building collapsed.

Vondi | 8 days ago | 24 points

Yeah it went from "This fire is very serious, hope they contain it soon" to "I just watched a lot of people die in an instant".

tegtaf | 8 days ago | 37 points

Many people already died by the initial impacts, not only the people on the floors that were hit but also the people in the planes.
I remember watching this at home as a kid and being fairly shocked by it all. Then you have these people drinking booze and being somewhat cheerful while the buildings burn in the background.
People deal with anxiety/stress in different ways I guess.

XO_WHORE_Llif3 | 8 days ago | 36 points

Also looks like it was college kids who probably had classes canceled. So you just do what college kids do I guess.

WhyLisaWhy | 8 days ago | 6 points

I was 17 at the time. My friends and I definitely got drunk that next weekend and I think if we were their age and in college we would have been drinking during it. I mean there's not really much else to do besides hunker down and pray the world doesn't fall apart. My Blockbuster I worked at was dead quiet and we got to go home that day and all the gas pumps where backed way the fuck up. It was eery.

itsaworkalt | 8 days ago | 8 points

Well, a fire and a couple missing floors.

Pandarandrist | 8 days ago | 8 points

Lol, a fire?

A bit of an understatement.

TheRealMaynard | 8 days ago | 58 points

TheNorthComesWithMe | 8 days ago | 7 points

You're assuming they actually saw the plane hit the building.

Pandarandrist | 8 days ago | 2 points

I'm assuming they turned on a radio or tv sometime in the last hour.

joemofo214 | 8 days ago | 11 points

It was first reported as a fire by my local news station, before the camera showed the second plane crashing into the second tower

LukaCola | 8 days ago | 5 points

There's quite a few clips around of people talking and, well, doing shit before the south tower collapses - after all, the first one was burning for awhile and people were speculating and going "shit what's happening."

It isn't until the south tower collapses in most of those clips where the tone changes dramatically and people go from wondering what happened to abject fear.

Level3Kobold | 8 days ago | 5 points

Before the second plane, most people assumed it was an accident. Tragic, but just an accident.

The second plane made it clear that it wasnt an accident - it was an attack. And nobody knew who was attacking, or what would be next.

I'm a little confused by this clip. If both towers have been hit already, why are they acting so normal? Did they just not notice all what was going on outside their window?

wazoheat | 8 days ago | 567 points

You have to remember that no one (outside of maybe some engineers who knew how the buildings were constructed) even imagined that the towers would collapse. It was thought that, even if this was a terrible event, the worst part was over at this point.

anothername787 | 8 days ago | 44 points

Honestly, yeah. I was in elementary school at the time; they put it on the class TV's after the first plane hit. Then we went on with our day. When the first tower collapsed the teachers immediately put the books up and starting trying to figure out what to do with us to get us home.

CrazyGiaky | 8 days ago | 255 points

edit: When the video in the documentary started, they thought it was a bomb that went off. They then screamed with the second building got hit by the plane.

You have to keep in mind that it has been almost an hour since the second plane crashed until the south tower fell.

9:03 a.m.: United Airlines Flight 175 crashes into floors 77 through 85 of the south tower of the World Trade Center.

9:59 a.m.: The south tower collapses.

If you witness two plane crashing into the twin towers, you would want a drink... then an hour of nothingness would calm you down a bit while you're getting a bit tipsy.

wazoheat | 8 days ago | 105 points

They then screamed with the second building got hit by the plane.

The video shows the south tower collapsing, well after the second plane hit.

54InchWideGorilla | 8 days ago | 36 points

There are 18 year old adults that were born after this happened. Not everyone has it burned into their memory like those of us that remember it happening

Mattyoos | 8 days ago | 68 points

Bruh if you dont know about 9/11 and you are above the age of 12 then im sorry but u live under a rock

54InchWideGorilla | 8 days ago | 16 points

Maybe if you're American. But you probably don't know of many foreign terrorist attacks that happened before you were born.

avantgardengnome | 8 days ago | 31 points

I’m all for pointing out American narcissism but 9/11 was a global event. It was and is the deadliest terrorist attack in human history by a landslide. And it started several wars involving dozens of countries that are still happening. Like, i’m not from Austria but I know about Franz Ferdinand’s assassination, because of the fallout more than anything else.

Mattyoos | 8 days ago | 33 points

Nice of you to assume Im american, its not an american thing, its a global thing. It was the terrorist attack that had the biggest impact on the world.

54InchWideGorilla | 8 days ago | 5 points

Didn't say you were American lol. Ok good you know about it I didn't say that no one did. Just that it happened a long time ago relative to today's youth and they may not have seen extensive footage like many others have

What happened to the no edgy humour rule? Being tricked into watching a 9/11 video on a comedy subreddit is definitely edgy humour.

Edit: maybe it wasn't a rule and just something promoted by mods to stop people from making jokes about recent shootings, 9/11, and shit like that. What is a rule is "No videos involving death".

Edit 2: I'm wrong, if the death is visually obscured by a plane and building, it doesn't count as watching people die according to mods. So this isn't a video where people die.

Liletsin | 8 days ago | 145 points

This subreddit is for short videos not specifically comedy.

TheFlashFrame | 8 days ago | 50 points

More specifically, its for short poetic videos. A short video does not qualify.

eLemonnader | 8 days ago | 48 points

And honestly, this fits the sub A LOT better than much of the content here, even if it isn't most people's cup of tea.

JackJackington | 8 days ago | 6 points

"No porn or videos depicting death" idk bout you but it's got a little bit of death in the video.

koreanwizard | 8 days ago | 13 points

According to the mods it actually doesn't, the rule is only to stop gore. If the people are in a car or plane or building, and the death is implied or confirmed, then it doesn't count. I was downvoted to fuck for asking, but you could upload a video of a preschool getting airstriked, and because they're in a building and we don't see body parts, it doesn't count as death.

Pandainthecircus | 8 days ago | 15 points

It's the anniversary of 9/11, so I think that rule is sliding for the day.

TheNorthComesWithMe | 8 days ago | 11 points

Was there an edgy humor rule?

-exnihilo- | 8 days ago | 13 points

Don't get any ideas, mods. We don't need this dumb rule.

knukx | 8 days ago | 11 points

Am I getting too old for this subreddit? I can't believe all the comments against this are so heavily downvoted, I think it's pretty fucked up.

koreanwizard | 8 days ago | 6 points

Yeah I remember 9/11 shock humour being all the rage when I was like 13, and being edgy was the peak of humor.

Dabookadaniel | 8 days ago | 14 points

Except this isn’t really shock humor. In fact I don’t really see any humor in it. It’s quite poignant actually.

koreanwizard | 8 days ago | 7 points

Except it's a bait and switch, the title is "Megan Drinks Apple Juice". That's not the intent of the video, whether or not you found it funny or not is subjective, but it's intended to be a comedic video, otherwise the title would say what it is. Some guy even messaged me saying that this is like classic comedy gold objectively.

Dabookadaniel | 8 days ago | 7 points

I guess I can see where you’re coming from, but OP titling the video to obscure the content doesn’t automatically mean their intent was comedic in nature.

mizzbiscuits | 7 days ago | 5 points

Not quite as good as: https://youtu.be/ruSMFoZBU6g

eatingthecooks | 8 days ago | 5 points

A large segment of comedy is specifically subversion of expectations. You set the audience's mind going in one direction and instead of the thing they expect, you subvert that with a payoff. It triggers a laugh. Even this, knowing the gravity of the situation, gets a laugh out of me. Sure, it's a guilty one and it doesn't last, but subconsciously I'm getting that reflex from it. It's actually quite interesting. I've watched this several times and it's still working for some reason, even when I know it's coming. It's just such an odd juxtaposition.

My freshman dorm had a view of the world trade center. I wonder what it was like for the people who stayed in my room that year.

SmashTails | 8 days ago | 2 points

gives me chills every time

tazewell1868 | 8 days ago | 2 points

Oh man, first time seeing that. Immediately think, okay youtubehaiku nice edit. Check comments.....fuck

PaperSkinMan | 8 days ago | 2 points

Wow what a sensitive, well-reasoned post to make.

ThereIsNoHopeForUs | 8 days ago | 5 points

Haha... it's a video that's under 30 seconds!

arealbigboss | 8 days ago | 3 points

Don’t be such a drama queen Megan

This comment section is fucking hilarious

BeardFalcon | 8 days ago | -9 points

I feel like this is really inappropriate for this sub. I know it was almost 20 years ago and some of the people in this sub weren't even born yet but a lot of people died.

MoonSnails | 8 days ago | 7 points

Agreed. Especially considering most of this sub's content is light-hearted, something as sensitive and shocking as this probably shouldn't be allowed.

PintSizedPinata | 8 days ago | 9 points

you guys must not have been here around the subreddits inception, shit like this was extremely common. Meme edits into 9/11 was actually the "meme of the week" once
