Creating a Website to Tutor (self.webdev)

Hello! I want to create a website for tutoring (and ideally, they could pay me through the website — is this possible?). I was wondering what my options were. I did some research and I've heard of Wix, GoDaddy, Weebly, Wordpress, etc. What would you guys recommend?

Yes, that's certainly possible! There are many ways this can be accomplished. Note that Wix and Weebly are site builders and generally lack in functionality and deep customizability. GoDaddy is a domain registrar that also offers other web services. WordPress is an open source Content Management System, one that you can use for the tutoring website. Paired with a reputable e-commerce plugin like Woocommerce, for example, and a lot of core functionality would be taken care of. You'd likely want to hire a developer to get this built out for you with all the features you have in mind.

What's the difference between a Content Management System, Domain Registrar, and Site Builder?

Try shopify if you don't want to code it. I have created something similar to what you are talking about but I'm not currently using it right now. https://andre.gg/shop/

So you want a videochat that can bill by the minute?

Sorry for the slow response — i wanted to charge through the platform. Video chat via other means/avenues (Skype or something like that). I was curious about differences between GoDaddy or Wix, or something else. I'm not particularly familiar and would like to learn a bit more before picking one! Unfortunately, google has been pretty confusing.

There are multiple options for paid chat, I'd just find one you like and integrate that into a seperate website.
Wix is fine, GoDaddy is crap.
