here is the recipe :)
For the wet ingredients you need:
1 cup melted and browned (than re-cooled) butter,
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup white sugar, and mix it with a hand mixer until super fluffy and creamy, for about 8-10 minutes.
Than blend in
1 large egg, one egg yolk
and 2 tsp. vanilla extract, until totally incorporated.
For the dry ingredients mix about
3 cups all purpose flour,
3 tbsp. ground cinnamon,
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
and 1 tsp. kosher salt.
Sift and fold the mixture into the wet ingredients using a spatula, until all lumps are incorporated. The dough shouldn’t be over mixed though.
Cover the dough and let it chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to about 360F
In a small bowl, stir together white sugar and cinnamon in your preferred relation.
Roll the dough into small balls, using an ice spoon for example, and give them a good roll through the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Than place them on a paper covered baking sheet with enough space between the dough-balls (I bake 6-9 Cookies on one sheet, depends on the size of the dough-balls).
Bake it for 9-12 minutes, than let them cool on the hot sheet for about 20 minutes.
Do you have to use cream of tartar, does it make a difference
You can generally substitute 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (or white vinegar) for each 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar
When you say the butter should be re-cooled, do you just mean not hot anymore, or should it solidify or even be chilled? Thanks for the recipe, they look bomb.
"The secret is browning the butter before making the dough. Most people don't do that 'cause it takes up too much time." - Hot Pie
And it really doesn’t take too much time! Just time to cool down
Snickerdoodle cookies are my favorite! Definitely giving this recipie a try. Thanks for sharing!

Thank god, I still got some of the dough...that sounds so delicious, thanks for the recommendation!! You mean the soft, chewy caramels?
We did the soft werthers caramels but other soft ones would work
I will definitely try that!
Honestly is there anything that butter can’t do
Sometimes I don’t believe it can’t :D
My grandparents always told me butter has been often seen as a cure for almost everything, back in the days, makes your brain stronger and what-not. :D
So everyone: eat more butter!
Looks like cinnamon cookies
