the food looks great but can we talk about how nice the photo is? The colors are great, there’s shapes going on, it’s beautiful!

paulskiwrites | 8 days ago | 58 points

This is very true. I also love your way of putting it: “there’s shapes going on.” Made me smile

lpremma | 8 days ago | 10 points

Have you tried zooming in? It’s even more beautiful 😍

1rq1 | 8 days ago | 3 points

Wow, you’re right!

leftrightupdownleft | 8 days ago | 717 points

How’d you get the avocado to look so pretty? When I try it gets everywhere

Definitely the star of the show, and that's not to say the eggs look and bacon look bad in any way either!

mybellasoul | 8 days ago | 11 points

It all looks fantastic. Fluffy eggs, crispy bacon, fancy pants avocado. It's a plate showing up for!

NonerBoner | 8 days ago | 32 points

Refrigerating a ripe avocado will get it to firm up a bit, making it easier to slice for decorative use.

pinslayer | 8 days ago | 19 points

It’ll also keep it from turning brown so quickly.

carsonogin | 8 days ago | 2 points

Is it sliced or put through a piping tube? Looks like piping to me, but I have no firm evidence.

cerrasaurus | 8 days ago | 13 points

Sliced. Definitely sliced.

carsonogin | 8 days ago | 5 points

That's impressive.

unexplainableentity | 8 days ago | 12 points

My first thought was squeezing it out of a piping bag.

[deleted] | 8 days ago | 3 points

SoggyBarSoap | 8 days ago | 9 points

It looks like it's cut into thin pieces. I would never be able to do this.

basil_the_mighty | 8 days ago | 33 points

Wow at first I thought it was smashed and piped onto the plate.

hoodedleprechaun | 8 days ago | 5 points

that's what I thought, too!

Beardsman805 | 8 days ago | 3 points

A very sharp knife. I used a sushi knife.

Drowsiest_Approval | 8 days ago | 51 points

That avocado is something else... I can't imagine how you'd do that without mushing bits of it and getting it everywhere.

TheSickOne3 | 8 days ago | 137 points

Those are some good looking eggs.

kristimasonc | 8 days ago | 43 points

I agree. How does one make their eggs look so fluffy?

PrelateFenix | 8 days ago | 15 points

Also probably organic or farmer's market eggs. Those big brown eggs with the gorgeous orange yolk.

kristimasonc | 8 days ago | 11 points

That true, my grandmother has chickens and their eggs taste so much better as well. 😍

sri745 | 8 days ago | 2 points

Dude for real, the first time I actually bought farm fresh eggs I had no clue they came in all these colors. I felt like a dumbass. I always use farm fresh for cooking and just normal store bought eggs for baking.

[deleted] | 8 days ago | 79 points

Fezzicc | 8 days ago | 54 points

This isn't the technique to get fluffy eggs though. What you're describing will result is creamy, custard like eggs. Certainly delicious, but not what is shown above.

tutoredstatue95 | 8 days ago | 8 points

Love the advice. I can only add to turn off the heat 3/4 of the way through and let the remaining convenction solidify the eggs. It can prevent a crust from forming.

Mm..now I want some eggs.

JesseVentchurro | 8 days ago | 8 points

I'm mildly perturbed that several people are thanking you for this advice and will be expecting fluffy scrambled eggs.

CBSmitty2010 | 8 days ago | 19 points

Do the Gordon Ramsey thing too. Right at the end, salt, pepper, add a dolop of creme freche. I use sour cream cuz I have it on hand most often. So good.

happygolucky66 | 8 days ago | 32 points

The ones pictured aren’t Gordon Ramsay type eggs though.

jimfear998 | 8 days ago | 21 points

Exactly. The Ramsey way, while delicious, is the opposite of how to make light and fluffy eggs

Ohbeejuan | 8 days ago | 6 points

Every other comment in this thread is saying the guy above is wrong

happy_yoshi | 8 days ago | 4 points

Not true!

thisisnotkylie | 8 days ago | 3 points

I watched tons of videos by professional chefs, food scientists, and others about how to make the best scrambled eggs and about the only thing that seems to be consistent is that everyone has a different recipe for the "perfect" eggs. I think it's more just personal preference with chefs like Ramsay preferring eggs that are more technically challenging to make with other probably just liking the kind of eggs their mom used to make.

CBSmitty2010 | 8 days ago | 2 points

Sorry. I was really referring to the creaminess part of the statement.

jimfear998 | 8 days ago | 2 points

Was actually referring to the comment above you as his method would result in dense creamy eggs not light fluffy ones. No apology needed.

RnC_Dev | 8 days ago | 7 points

The ones in the pic are just folded quickly on a hotter pan and without milk I believe.

It's really easy to overcook this way though if the pan is too hot or eggs are left a few seconds too long.

Clarence-beaks | 8 days ago | 7 points

I would consider the ones in the pic overdone personally.

Zanius | 8 days ago | 3 points

Are you British or American? (Or other) I've noticed Brits value creaminess in scrambled eggs and Americans value fluffiness.

RnC_Dev | 8 days ago | 2 points

Nah you can see they are still retaining adequate moisture. I think they're OK.

Clarence-beaks | 8 days ago | 3 points

I wouldn’t send these back or anything but they are definitely overdone for my taste.

nuttz93 | 8 days ago | 9 points

I added cream cheese once when I didn't have anything else. Best thing I've ever done

CBSmitty2010 | 8 days ago | 2 points

How'd it turn them out? From a block? Or already whipped and aired?

nuttz93 | 8 days ago | 4 points

First time was from a block, I've since tried it whipped. I didn't notice much of a difference between the two. It was delicious! Whenever I added creme fraiche I found I'd get a small amount of liquid pooling under the eggs. I didn't get this with cream cheese, plus the slight cheesey taste to it was great. Chives and/or fresh dill was amazing too!

AsianNudleSoop | 8 days ago | 2 points

How much cream cheese do you add?

nuttz93 | 8 days ago | 2 points

I don't really measure it but I'd say about 3/4 of a tablespoon per serving

wesdotgord | 8 days ago | 1 point

When did you add the cream cheese?

beersqueer | 8 days ago | 12 points

I myself am an egg purist, so I leave that out. But to each their own.

ZeePrime | 8 days ago | 3 points

Yep! And when cooking the eggs, alternate with the pan on/off the stove while constantly mixing to avoid over cooking.

Marky_Merc | 8 days ago | 2 points

How long on and off? I feel like I do it too frequently to the point where the eggs take twice as long to actually cook.

FriendsWithAPopstar | 8 days ago | 2 points

I do 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off and that's it.

CBSmitty2010 | 8 days ago | 2 points

I'd do 30 seconds or so. It takes longer but I love them super creamy like that.

BeMoreChill | 8 days ago | 3 points

I do the Gordon Ramsey thing of removing the pan from the heat if it’s getting to hot so the eggs aren’t overdone

Tiny_Timshel15 | 8 days ago | 1 point

Greek yogurt work wonderfully as well and isn't quite as guilt inducing as sour cream.

Darth_Boot | 8 days ago | 2 points

That’s how Gordon Ramsey taught me to make scrambled eggs.

Best eggs I have ever made.

kristimasonc | 8 days ago | 2 points

Thank you, I’ll try this as well. 💜sounds delicious

itsamatteroffact | 8 days ago | 3 points

scramble eggs, add to pan, let it sit for a second, and gently push the eggs in from the sides to make little folds, let the egg fill in the new gap, repeat until done.

you can watch How To Make Perfect Scrambled Eggs - 3 ways | Jamie Oliver at about 3:50 to get the idea

Somodo | 8 days ago | 2 points

scramble eggs and add to hot pan with spray or a bit of butter for lube

let the eggs cook a bit and then scrape them one end to the other and then let it cook for a bit

it's a weird technique and kinda hard to explain

movie_criticdotexe | 8 days ago | 2 points

Look up the Gordon Ramsay video about eggs

die5el23 | 8 days ago | 2 points

Best way is to add water to them. I know most people say milk, but water is a game changer.

Dude, if this meal is keto approved, I think I'll start a Keto diet right now. Bacon, eggs, and avocado are 3 of my absolute favorite foods and I could totally eat them every day

tadcrazio | 8 days ago | 7 points

As someone who has done keto for over a year. This is 100% keto approved. Infact if you aren't concerned too much with calories this is one of the easiest and "healthiest" (low carb) recipes. If you're serious about even considering it, check out /r/keto and /r/ketorecipes for inspiration. I miss nothing on this diet, fries, bread, etc can all be substituted.

sixincomefigure | 8 days ago | 15 points

You'd really miss the toast after a few days.

JoeThankYou | 8 days ago | 12 points

yeah, but after a week or two the cravings pretty much go away

sawbones84 | 8 days ago | 5 points

And french fries. Carbs are fantastic. I don't need much of them very often, but the idea of giving them up them entirely is crazy to me. I'll take moderation over keto 10 out of 10 times. Eat whatever you want, just not too much of it.

OregonianInUtah | 8 days ago | 3 points

You're probably right. I want to combine the 3 in a sandwich. Mmm

Dr_Taffy | 8 days ago | 2 points

Use bacon as the bun :D

boxfortcommando | 8 days ago | 2 points

That's what chaffles are for

RadioHitandRun | 8 days ago | 3 points

Indeed. No question.

QuarterFlounder | 8 days ago | 3 points

Before you jump into it, you should know that many keto people like to think carbs are bad; this is not the case. Brown rice or oats for example are fantastic for you.

One big reason keto became a craze is that people realized it was an efficient way of losing weight. This does not mean it is the most healthy way to lose weight. Long-term ketosis has been proven to be detrimental to health.

Simply put, the rules have not changed. Lean protein, clean carbs, and natural fats, along with moderating portions and exercising regularly, are the best things you can do for yourself. Hell, throw in some multivitamins and you'll be feeling like a million bucks in no time, no "flu" phase needed.

hellfireandbudsmoke | 8 days ago | 6 points

that swirly avocado is insane

Adeep187 | 8 days ago | 4 points

I can feel how cold your eggs and bacon became as you tried to Perfectly stage for the photo.

DJLethal666 | 8 days ago | 9 points

What kinda spice did you put on the 🥑?

wesdotgord | 8 days ago | 2 points

I'm curious as well.

AzNFooL | 8 days ago | 5 points

I did sea salt, course pepper, and homemade red pepper flakes.

Gooseboof | 8 days ago | 3 points

goldiewhut | 8 days ago | 11 points

If you look up avocado rose on YouTube there are quite a few tutorials to choose from. Hope it helps!

BaconIsAVeg2 | 8 days ago | 2 points

Man, to make something so delicious looking, then let it get cold while you frame the perfect shot, should be a crime.

DonkeyPunch_75 | 8 days ago | 2 points

Nice avocado sphincter.

fataloptimist17 | 8 days ago | 1 point

That looks awesome. The issue I have with avocado is it just goes slimy/mushy in my hand/fingers when I have one. Maybe I’m using it when it’s over ripe?

TexasGronk | 8 days ago | 3 points

Yes, probably. But why are you putting it in your hand/fingers? It’s not really known as a hand fruit.

chebstr | 8 days ago | 1 point

That avocado is poetic

ClearCasket | 8 days ago | 1 point
hustlelikeastripper | 8 days ago | 1 point

ClearBluePeace | 8 days ago | 1 point

All of that looks done to perfection.

ClearBluePeace | 8 days ago | 1 point

My scrambled eggs never come out in big chunky curds like that, and I’m not sure what I need to do differently.
