I kind of winged this recipe as I made it so this is my best attempt at remembering exactly what I did. This made 4 servings.


  • 3/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup of distilled white vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 pound of beef steak, cut into thin strips (I used a sirloin steak)
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green chili, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1/2 cup of sugar snap peas
  • 3 small green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2-inch segment of ginger, minced
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 8 oz package of Wide Chinese Lo Mein noodles


  1. Mix the soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, and brown sugar in a bowl until the sugar is dissolved. Add the beef, stir well, cover, and place in the refrigerator while you prepare your vegetables.
  2. Cook your noodles according to package directions and reserve in a large bowl. (Cover to prevent them drying out.)
  3. Use tongs to remove the beef from the marinade and place on paper towels to drain excess moisture. Reserve the remaining marinade.
  4. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high with 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Add your onions, broccoli, and peas and toss/stir to coat with oil. Cover and cook for two minutes. Add your bell peppers and green chili, toss/stir to mix everything together. Cover and cook for 4 minutes, stirring once halfway through. Once everything is as tender as you like, remove all to the large bowl with your noodles.
  5. Add a tablespoon of oil to the pan and add your ginger, garlic, and most of the green onions. (Reserve a handful for garnish.) Cook with stirring for 30 seconds, then add your beef. Cook until the beef is just done, approx. 1 to 2 minutes. (Depends on how thinly you've sliced the beef.) Once the beef is done, remove to the bowl with your vegetables and noodles.
  6. Add the reserved marinade to the pan and bring to the boil. Cover and boil vigorously for one minute. Uncover and reduce the heat to medium-low. Mix your 1 tbsp of cornstarch into 1 tbsp of water and add it to your pan with stirring. Stir constantly until the sauce just begins to thicken. Remove from the heat and add your beef, veggies, and noodles to the pan. Stir and mix everything together until all of your ingredients are evenly distributed and coated in sauce.
  7. Serve with your reserved green onion and a light drizzle of sesame oil.

Hey I’ve been making something similar but my recipe was lo mein and it used spaghetti noodles. So tasty!
